High-Rolling Spray Booth — The Family Handyman

Seal off paint or dust particles in your store with this depression-toll roll-downward shield.

The Family unit Handyman

Seal off pigment or grit particles in your shop with this low-cost roll-downward shield.

1. Centre and drill 3/16-in. holes in the PVC caps for the eye bolt axles. With a hacksaw, cut one of the corner braces in half to create two metal straps. Assemble the heart bolts, caps, straps, nuts and washers as shown. Snug the nuts against the caps.

2. Spiral the assembled caps and braces to the ceiling joists so a corner is created when the poly unrolls.

3. Measure the distance from cap to cap and cut the PVC pipage to fit, and so apply poly to the pipe with carpet record.

4. Unscrew one of the braces, stick the pipe into the caps (a "press fit" is all you need) and reattach the braces. Roll downwardly the poly and apply brusk lengths of hook-and-loop strips along the edges to help seal the corner. Cheers to Tim Ganther for this tip.

Yous'll need the post-obit parts, which are available at hardware stores and home centers:

■ iv-mil poly ($6 for a 10-ft. x 20-ft. canvass)

■ One 1-1/4-in. PVC pipe ($two.50 for 10-ft. length)

■ 4 1-1/four-in. PVC caps ($1 each)

■ Carpet tape ($vi)

■ 4 three/sixteen-in. x 3-in. center bolts, nuts and washers

■ Three v-in. corner braces ($5)

In this video, Travis shows y'all how to make your own spray booth.
